"Sugovushan" reservoir located on the territory of Tartar river in Tartar region was put into operation in 1976. This reservoir is formed due to the inflow of water from the Tartarchay and Turagachay rivers.A total of 96,217 hectares of land from the reservoir with a total volume of 5.86 million cubic meters , including 24,481 hectares of Tartar region, 14,380 hectares of Agdara region, 6938 hectares of Goranboy region, 5912 hectares of Yevlakh region, 12,620 hectares of Barda region, 29,886 hectares of Aghdam region and its planned to provide 2000 hectares of arable land in Agjabadi district with irrigation water.

However, as a result of the Karabakh war 28 years ago, the Sugovushan reservoir was occupied. Since the reservoir has been under occupation since then, there have been serious difficulties in water supply to the land plots. At the same time, the lack of water has created serious environmental problems in the river.

As a result of the counter-offensive operation, which began on September 27, on October 3, 2020, the glorious Azerbaijani army liberated the village of Sugovushan and managed to release water from the reservoir.
